Gateway setup
Read your gateway over USB, review Wi-Fi and LoRa changes or bind an owned room, then explicitly confirm saving.
USB connection
NOT CONNECTEDSelect the gateway in the browser's port picker. Close other programs using the same USB port.
Install firmware via USB
USB UPDATEFor a blank board or replacing another firmware. This is separate from reading an existing gateway. Room updates remain the normal update path.
Checking temporarily restarts the gateway into its bootloader and interrupts its room connection. Flash is not written until you confirm installation.
Need to save existing settings first?
Settings backup is in Gateway settings. Before selecting the firmware device, connect and read the existing gateway there, then create a backup.
Factory installation overwrites the bootloader, partition table and application, and may affect existing settings. It does not perform a full flash erase. Keep USB power connected. An interruption may require USB recovery.
This removes ALL external flash: firmware, settings, saved keys and node database. It does not erase eFuse or the factory MAC. The board will require Factory installation. There is no undo or full-image backup in this wizard.
Connected device
Reported hardware and firmware identify a software profile; they do not prove the physical board model. Compatibility must be confirmed before any future installation.
Room binding
OWNER ONLYSign in as the room owner. Coordinator and spectator links cannot authorize gateway setup.
I have a Room ID and Relay Key
Coordinator/spectator links, memberships and approvals remain unchanged.
Preparing a replacement immediately changes the room’s Relay Key and disconnects its previous gateway. You must then save the new settings over USB. Cancelling the USB step does not restore the old key.
Wi-Fi and LoRa settings
LOCAL USBExisting values are preserved unless changed. Saved passwords and keys are never displayed.
Selected changes
Saving restarts this gateway and temporarily interrupts its connection. Keep USB power connected. An interrupted edit may leave partially changed settings; no automatic retry or rollback is performed.
Encrypted settings backup
Save Wi-Fi, standard LoRa and primary-channel settings locally. Private PKI keys, Node ID and room credentials are excluded. A replacement board keeps its own identity.
Choose a separate backup password (12–128 characters). MOVETAIN cannot recover or reset it. Write it down and store it safely; without it the file cannot be restored.
Restoration only prepares a preview. Review and confirm the separate Save to device step. Bind the room using current owner credentials; an old Relay Key is never restored.
