Terms of Service for Movetain

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Movetain application and the Movetain LoRa Relay Command Center. By using our application and services, you agree to these terms.

1. Information We Collect and Process

• Location Data (GPS): Movetain requires access to your device’s location (GPS coordinates, speed, altitude) to record your hiking and travel tracks, and to display your real-time position on the map. This location data is processed in the background (via a foreground service) while recording a track, even if the screen is locked or the app is minimized.
• Sensors: The app accesses your device's built-in sensors (like the pressure sensor/barometer) to measure altitude and atmospheric changes.

2. How We Store Your Data

• Strictly Local Storage: All recorded tracks, waypoints, coordinates, and statistics are stored locally on your device (in the app's secure sandbox directory).
• No Cloud Storage & Accounts: We do not require account creation, and we do not run external databases. Your hiking routes are never uploaded to our servers.

3. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or distribute your location data, routes, or any personal information to third parties, advertising agencies, or government entities. All data remains exclusively on your device.

4. Permissions Used

To function properly, the app requests the following Android permissions:

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: To get precise GPS coordinates.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION: To ensure continuous route recording when the screen is turned off.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To display the track recording status in your device notification panel.

5. Your Rights and Data Erasure

Since all data is stored locally, you can delete all your recorded tracks at any time directly through the app's history screen or by clearing the app cache/uninstalling the application.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated "Effective Date".
